After you submit your application, you will need to make your dues payment online or mail them to WASHRM, 4 Weems Lane, #197, Winchester VA 22601.

Once payment is received and processed, you will be notified about all the membership benefits and how to log into the WASHRM website by our Membership Chair.

Application FAQ:

• You do not have to hold HR Certifications to join the chapter

• You do need to be within the service area  (Northern Shenandoah Valley or vicinity) and be able to attend meetings

• You will need to pay membership dues by mail or online prior to being approved as a member

WASHRM Membership Classification

Professional Members. Individuals who are engaged in the profession of human resource management and who meet one of the following criteria:

1. Possess at least three (3) years of exempt-level human resource management experience.
2. Hold an HR certification recognized by SHRM.
3. Are faculty members holding assistant, associate or full professorial rank in human resource management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three (3) years of experience at this level of teaching.
4. Are full-time consultants with at least three (3) years of experience as a practitioner in human resource management.
5. Are full-time attorneys with at least three (3) years of experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession. Professional Members may vote and hold office in the Chapter.

 General Members.  General Members shall be limited to individuals actively engaged in bona fide Human Resources administration or who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management (HRM) or development (HRD/OD) and do not meet the requirements of a Professional Membership.   General Members may vote and hold office in the Chapter.  Memberships are individual and not transferable to other individuals.

 Student Members. Student Members are individuals actively enrolled in a business or human resources programs at the college or university level and must be classified as a full-time student.  Student members may not vote and may not hold office in the Chapter.  Memberships are individual and not transferable to other individuals.

Agreement

Please note that WASHRM Membership is approved on an individual basis only. Memberships are not transferable to another person in your organization.

I hereby apply for membership (new/renewal) in the Winchester Area chapter of SHRM and agree to pay the current applicable membership dues of $180 per full year (which includes meal payments).  All membership types (full-year, 6-month prorated, or Q4 membership) will include a $5.00 credit card convenience fee to cover the cost of processing.  

I recognize and accept the responsibilities incumbent upon me as a member, and I pledge to practice and uphold the Code of Ethics of the Society, to abide by the Chapter Bylaws, and to assist in carrying out the objectives of the Chapter. 

I further acknowledge and understand the purpose of WASHRM, the WASHRM online tools and member directory, seek to establish communications between area HR professionals and allow them to share their thoughts and ideas relevant to human resources and safety.

With that thought in mind, it is important that any correspondence be solely relevant and focused on these goals. I understand that none of the WASHRM web tools/applications are not for the purpose of marketing or selling any company's products, but rather a means to information gathering that is relevant to yourself, your company, and the WASHRM group as a whole.

I will only use these tools/applications and membership directory only for information gathering and sharing purposes and not to market any products or services you may have to sell or offer.
